It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The 34th Annual Bell Christmas Parade rolled down US 129 on Saturday afternoon, much to the delight of children lined up along the parade route.

“A Country Christmas” was the theme for this year’s parade and awards were given out to the following entries:

In the business category, first place was Destin’s Dance and Fitness Academy, second place went to Ameris Bank and third place was presented to Bell Feed & Farm.

For family/individual, first place went to the Kimbrell/Grimes Family, second place was Wendy Randolph, and third place was awarded to James Colaw.

For the education/youth category, first place went to Cub Scout Pack #406, second place was Girl Scouts of Gilchrist County and third place was given to Trenton’s Suwannee Valley Quilt Festival.

In the church/religious category, first place went to Trenton Community Nazarene Church, second place was New Beginning Baptist Church and third place was awarded to Priscilla Baptist Church.

As for best decorated, awards were as follows:

Military-Sons of Confederate Veterans

Civic Organization-Food Pantry of Gilchrist County

State or County-Gilchrist County Commissioners

Motorized-Todd Smith, Jr.

Equestrian-Jean Speechley

Fire/Rescue/EMS-North Gilchrist Fire Rescue
