The Trenton Lady Tiger softball alumni dusted off their gloves and bats this past Saturday, March 7th. Before the game Coach Scott Guthrie gathered current and former players in center field to introduce themselves, learn about this year’s team and hear about past accomplishments from alumni.
Coach John Vickers and his wife Paulette were then recognized for their many accomplishments with the softball program including a state championship, state runner-up and eight district championships in his years as the head softball coach. A sign commemorating these achievements was presented and will be hung on the new batting facility at the softball field.
Teams were then decided with one team representing the graduating classes of 1986-2000 and the other team with the classes of 2001-2010. A great time was had by all players who escaped with only one injury.
A big THANK YOU to all the players and fans who came to give their support to the softball program and honor a great coach. We are looking forward to making this an annual tradition.
