Bell tops Trenton in District 6 1A battle

The Bell Lady Bulldogs were on top of their game Friday evening as they defeated the Lady Tigers of Trenton 6-5. Bell took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Lady Tigers tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third inning. Bell scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd and 1 in the 4th to hold a 4-1 lead into the 7th inning. The Lady Tigers scored 4 runs in their last at bat to take a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the 7th. The Lady Bulldogs scored 2 runs in their last bat to take the lead and the 6-5, District 6-1A victory. Bell and Trenton now are at the top of District 6-1A with each team having defeated the other on their home fields. The District 6-1A softball tournament will be April 13-16 in Trenton.

The Lady Tigers were led at the plate by Ginger Deen hitting 2 for 3, Ashley Biddle hitting 2 for 3 with a RBI and Reagan Couch hit 2 for 4 scoring 1 run and 1 RBI.

Trenton traveled to Hawthorne on Tuesday night for a District battle. Trenton will host Lafayette County on Thursday at 7 p.m. Trenton will host Williston on April 7 at 7 p.m. Come out and watch the Lady Tigers as they prepare to finish their regular season.

Bell will host Hawthorne on Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. and host Suwannee County Tuesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. Come out and cheer on the Lady Bulldogs as they finish their regular season.
