Pancake breakfast will benefit local firefighter

The Spring Ridge Volunteer Fire Department invites you to help them assist the family of a stricken Gilchrist County volunteer firefighter with the proceeds of their next Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 5th.  The breakfast will run as usual from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the SRVFD firehouse (Gilchrist County Fire Station 3) located at 5600 NE County Road 340.

On Saturday, February 20th, local volunteer firefighter William “Bill” Ingram suffered a life threating burst aneurysm while working his day job at the ACE Hardware in Trenton.  Members of Trenton Fire Department and Gilchrist County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported Bill to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, and as of the time of this article, is still in a coma listed under critical condition.

Bill Ingram has been a dedicated member of the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department since 2011 and has devoted countless hours to the community and worked hard to better the fire department and improve the lives of not only the citizens of Trenton, but all of Gilchrist County.  Trenton Fire Chief Keith Turner commented that Bill Ingram is the finest example of not only a Volunteer Firefighter, but also as a kind and caring person that would do anything to help his fellow man.

The Trenton Volunteer Fire Department is also asking for the public’s help with softening the tremendous financial burden that has been placed on Bill’s family.  As the sole income earner for his family, the medical and daily expenses are building very quickly with Bill’s family struggling not only emotionally, but financially.  The TVFD asks that anyone who wishes to help Bill’s family to please provide a donation in the form of cash, or a check made out to Cindy Howard. All donations will go directly to the family of Bill Ingram and will help them overcome at least some of the burden.

Donations can be made at the regular SRVFD Pancake Breakfast on March 5th.  Donations will also be accepted at Trenton City Hall located at 114 North Main Street in Trenton, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and at the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department at 111 SE 5th Ave on Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  A Go Fund Me® account has also been set up, which can be accessed by visiting https://www.gofundme.com/vtq2fqp4.

For more information you can contact Chief Keith Turner at (352) 949-3284 or Assistant Chief David Peaton at (352) 221-0463, or by email at firerescue@trentonflorida.org.

Thank you all and God Bless.
