Trenton Rotary Club will host the 8th Annual Fishing Tournament at Suwannee Marina on April 30th.
The annual tournament is somewhat unique in that there are three categories of boats, freshwater fishermen can fish for bass by going up the Suwannee and the many creeks that feed it, inshore fishermen will be searching for redfish and speckled trout on the flats off coast and the larger boats will be trying to bag large grouper and kingfish in the deeper water several miles offshore.
The event has raised over $35,000 for the Suwannee Valley Leagues over the years and those dollars are used by SVL to maintain and improve the facilities and programs of SVL. The Trenton Rotary Club believes that team sports are one of the best ways to teach our youth the proper life lessons that will make them better adult citizens. You can register for the tournament by going to our website, trentonrotaryclub.org or by contacting either Charlie Smith (352) 949-0923 or Damon Leggett (352) 215-4580.
If you don’t want to fish come join us for the Captain’s Dinner and Calcutta on Friday night before the tournament. The Captain’s Dinner is open to all and is also held at Suwannee Marina where Allen Clark and his team at the marina do a fantastic job of serving it up and making everyone feel welcome, individual dinners are $10.
It’s not too late to be a sponsor of the tournament either, sponsor levels are $100, $250 and $500.
