By Cindy Jo Ayers

On Thursday, July 21, 2016  United States District Judge Mark E. Walker ruled that all the claims against Defendants Sheriff Robert Schultz and Stephen Stalvey are “Dismissed with Prejudice.”

The lawsuit was filed by Linda Walker against Sheriff Robert “Bobby” Schultz and Sergeant Stephen Stalvey in December of 2014. Walker was seeking damages in excess of $75,000 excluding attorney’s fees after she was arrested in June 2013.

In the suit Walker alleged that Stalvey violated her civil rights by falsely arresting her without probable cause. As a result she maintains that she suffered economic injuries, pain and suffering, embarrassment, humiliation, and loss of the capacity to enjoy life.

Charges were dropped in October of 2013 against Walker after the prosecution dropped its case against her.

After the suit was filed against Schultz and Stalvey, the attorneys representing them filed a Motion for Summary Judgment.

Sheriff Schultz said, “I’m glad this is behind us, this ruling shows the Sheriff’s Office and  it’s employee did not do anything inappropriate.
