Notice is hereby given that a referendum, a ballot summary of which appears below, will be considered on the November 8, 2016, Gilchrist County General Election Ballot.

  Referendum Amending Time of Sale of Alcoholic Beverages in Unincorporated areas of Gilchrist County, Florida.

Presently, under current County Ordinance of Gilchrist County, Florida, alcoholic beverage sales are prohibited in any place holding a state license in the unincorporated areas of Gilchrist County after 2:00 A.M. on Sundays.  Should the Board of County Commissioners amend its ordinance to authorize alcoholic beverage sales in the unincorporated areas of the county on Sunday between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 12:00 midnight?

(  ) Yes  -  For approval to allow Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 Midnight.

(  ) No - Against approval to allow Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 Midnight.

This public measure is authorized pursuant to Florida Statutes section 562.14.  Also, see Gilchrist County, Florida Ordinance Number 80-1.

INVITATION TO BID #2016-01

The City of Trenton Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) hereby gives notice that bids will be accepted from qualified bidders for the following work:

Improvement to NE 2 Street between State Road 26 and NE 1 Avenue to include paving of parking area with brick pavers, concrete curb, concrete sidewalk and area lighting.

Approximately 90 days will be allowed for construction.

Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City of Trenton CRA, 114 North Main Street, Trenton, Florida 32693, until 2:00 P.M. (local time), Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read.  Bidding Documents will not be issued after 5:00 P.M. (local time), Friday, October 14, 2016.  Electronic (Internet) or facsimile (Fax) bids will not be accepted for this project. ***PLEASE NOTE THAT TRENTON IS NOT A GUARANTEED TIME DELIVERY AREA FOR ANY COURIER OR DELIVERY SERVICE***

Award, if made, will be based on the apparent lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the total of the project for the actual work intended, including selected alternates, if any, and whose proposal complies with all the Contract Document requirements.

A Proposal Guaranty of not less than five percent (5%) of the total actual bid, in the form of either a certified check, cashiers check, trust company treasurers check, bank draft of any national or state bank, or a Surety Bid Bond, made payable to the “City of Trenton CRA”, must accompany each bid.  A check or draft in an amount less than five percent (5%) of the actual bid will invalidate the bid.

All work is to be done in accordance with the Project Plans, and Special Provisions to accompany the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction 2013 together with the complete Florida Department of Transportation Implemented Modifications to the Standard Specifications (Supplemental Specifications), effective through July 2013.

An entity or affiliate who has been placed on the discriminatory vendor list may not submit a bid to contract with a public entity for the construction of a public work as set forth in Florida Statutes, Section 287.134.

Any person or affiliate who has been placed on the convicted vendor list following a public entity crime may not submit a bid to or contract with a public entity for construction of a public work as set forth in Florida Statutes, Section 287.133.

Sealed BIDS will be received by the City of Trenton, Florida at the office of the City Manager, 114 N. Main Street, Trenton, Florida 32693, until 2:00 p.m. local time on October 25, 2016, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, incidentals, and taxes to rehabilitate three (3) and replace one (1) existing duplex submersible lift stations with all associated piping and sitework.
