Local Teacher Jean Roberts will be missed

Local residents were saddened to hear that local longtime teacher Jean Roberts has passed away after a brief illness.  Roberts passed way on Wednesday, June 21 at the Hospice Care Center in Gainesville.

Roberts had taught school at Bell High School for the past 28 years. She was a teacher for the Life Skills and will be remembered for her love of her students and devotion to them.

She was a lifelong resident of Gilchrist County and a graduate of Trenton High School.

Sherry Lindsey, Principal of Bell High and longtime friend of Jean Roberts said, “She had a passion for kids, loved her students and they knew it.” Lindsey went on to say the students, faculty and staff will miss her terribly.

Many will remember Roberts for her many random acts of kindness. She was known to quietly help students at the school when she saw a need. She was a very giving person.
