Rolling Oaks Country Store hopes to open for business this weekend.
The Justin Edwards family of Bell will open the store with the help of several local employees to serve the Waccassassa community and all those passing by on Highway 26. Edwards’ daughter Alyssa Edwards will be the manager of Rolling Oaks Country Store. Justin Edwards said, “We are so happy to be here serving this community, we hope everyone will stop in and say hello.”
New customers will find a deli, bakery, grocery items, local milk, Amish butter and cheeses inside the country store.
From a cottage behind the main store you will be able to buy live bait, tackle and ice. This store will be ideal for local fisherman because they can pick up a fresh sandwich for lunch, then stock up on bait and ice with one stop as they head for the Gulf or Suwannee River.
They are all stocked up with Amish items including Troyer cold cuts and cheeses, as well as Amish rolled butter, jams and jellies. They will also have a selection of jerky as well as lots of snack foods. They will feature a honey pot where customers can refill jars of honey.
The business will have U-Haul rentals and storage sheds for those who like to shop local.
Handmade crafts and wooden outdoor furniture will be stocked also. The works of three area wood workers will be for sale including clocks, signs and carved items. Some woodworkers will take special orders for custom work. Local handmade knives, jewelry and more hand crafted items will be available in the gift section of the store. They carry a line of Amish cookbooks that all the local cooks will be interested in.
The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week, Saturday hours will be 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. and the store will be closed on Sunday. Rolling Oaks Country Store is located at 6880 SE State Road 26, Trenton or just before the flashing light on Hwy. 26 in the Waccassassa area at the entrance to Rolling Oaks.
