Lady Tigers Softball improves to 5-0

The THS Lady Tiger Softball team improved its record to 5-0 this week after getting wins against Mayo and Suwannee County.
The Lady Tigers traveled to Mayo on Thursday night and pounded out 19 hits. Eighth grader Jenny Lynn Johnson was 4-5 with two triples, junior Bryn Thomas was 3-4 with a 2 run home run, and freshman Lilly Wilkerson added another home run as the Tigers beat the Hornets 19-4 in 5 innings. Senior Josie NesSmith was the winning pitcher giving up just three hits and one earned run to improve her record to 2-0.
On Friday night the Lady Tigers hosted the 5A Suwannee Bulldogs and started freshman Darian Ingram on the mound. Ingram pitched all 5 innings, striking out 6, giving up two hits, and kept the Bulldogs scoreless. She improved her record to 3-0. The Tigers had 12 hits led by Josie NesSmith. Josie was 3-3 on the night with a triple and 3 runs scored. Freshman Adrian Ingram was 2-2, Jenny Lynn Johnson was 2-3 and Bryn Thomas added a double. The Lady Tigers won 10-0 in five innings.
This week the Tigers were in Bronson on Tuesday to play district foe Lady Eagles. Trenton will travel to 5A Keystone on Friday to take on the Lady Indians. The two varsity games first pitch at 7 p.m. Go Lady Tigers.
