Trenton girls end regular season with win over Hilliard

The Trenton girls basketball team took a 61-27 win over visiting Hilliard Saturday night to finish their regular season with a 22-2 record. The Lady Tigers were dominating in this game as Standrea McHenry was named Player of the Game. The junior forward, a standout for the Lady Tigers, shot 17 points in this last regular season win. Trenton’s style of play allowed them to take a 16-2 first quarter edge, and a 37-10 lead at half time. The Lady Red Flashers scored 17 points in the second half as they finished their regular season with a 10-13 overall record and 4-1in District 6 1A. Trenton scored 24 points in the final two quarters to take the win.
Trenton will host the girls District 7-1A tournament beginning Monday night. Bronson will play Trenton Thursday evening at 7:30. Chiefland will play Branford in the first game Thursday with tip-off set for 6 p.m. The winners of the Thursday games will play for the championship on Friday night with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. The top two teams in this tournament will advance to the state playoffs. Come out and support these teams as they battle for an opportunity to advance into the state playoffs. Go Tigers.
