Mr. Charles James Bass
Charles James Bass, 71, of Bronson, passed away March 2, 2018.
Mr. Bass was born November 25, 1946 to the late O.C. and Mable Bass in Gainesville, but he lived in the Bronson area since 2000. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post # 236 in Bronson. Mr. Bass attended the Church of God, and in his spare time enjoyed watching TV, working in the yard, and reading.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife Frieda Bass, his sons James (Nicole) Bass and Larry Bass, his daughter Diane (William) Marquardt, his brother George Bass, his sister Patricia Nelson, his grandchildren Jonathan Dupree, Brianna Dupree, and Nicholas Dupree, his greatgrandchild Wyatt Dupree, and other extended family members.
Funeral services for Mr. Bass were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chiefland Chapel. The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Terri Marie Miller
Terri Marie Miller, 54, of Chiefland passed away March 9, 2018.
Mrs. Miller was born February 21, 1964 to the late James Frederick and Patricia Rusaw in Dunedin, but had lived in the Chiefland area for a year after moving here from Dunnellon. She was a member of Riverland Baptist Church in Dunnellon and the Sandfly Hunting Club. In her spare time, Mrs. Miller enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband Mike Miller, her son Justin (Hayley) Miller, her step-mother Cindy Frederick, her sister Mitzi (Jerry) Robinson, her mother-in-law Elizabeth “Claire” Bower, her brother-in-laws Danny (Lynn) Riffle and David Miller, her sister-in-law Debbie Kimbrell, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
The family received friends at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chiefland Chapel from 3:00 – 5 :00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Mr. Marion Elexander Polk, Sr.
Marion Elexander Polk, Sr., 94, of Horseshoe Beach passed away March 5, 2018.
Mr. Polk was born March 22, 1923 to the late Thomas and Minnie Polk and had spent most of his life in the Horseshoe Beach area. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during D-Day and the Battle of Normandy in World War II. He retired as a foreman of the Orange County Road Department. Mr. Polk attended the Jena Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a member of DAV. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he will always be remembered as a man who loved his dogs.
Mr. Polk is survived by his sons Luther Polk and Marion (Cindy) Polk, Jr., his daughters Gloria (Keinth) Osteen, Patricia (James) Valentine, Adrian Alford, Wanda (Danny) Osteen, Helen Polk and Roxann Polk, 21 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wives Lessie Mae Polk and Barbara Ann Polk.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Polk were held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Butler Cemetery outside of Horseshoe Beach. The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Mrs. Patricia Flynn Weitzner
Patricia Flynn Weitzner, 80, of Chiefland, passed away March 6, 2018.
Mrs. Weitzner was born May 3, 1937 to the late Patrick and Margaret Flynn in New York City, New York. She moved to Chiefland from Deerfield Beach in 2004. She was of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. Weitzner is survived by her husband Robert M. Weitzner of Chiefland.
Funeral services for Mrs. Weitzner were held Friday, March 9, 2018, at 2:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Chiefland, with Father Joe McDonnell officiating. The family received friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. before the service at the church.
