Bulldogs drop two games

By Matthew Harrell
Bell Baseball’s tough season continued as the Bulldogs dropped a pair of games last week.
Bell traveled to Mayo for a non-district game against the Lafayette Hornets Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs were competitive for most of the game, taking a 2-2 tie into the fourth inning and trailing 3-2 going into the fifth.
But the Hornets were able to hang a three spot on the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fifth and were able to pull away for a 6-2 win over the Bulldogs.
On Thursday, the Bulldogs hosted Dixie County in a district contest.
A Colton Rawlins solo home run generated all of the Bulldogs’ offense and two errors led to two unearned runs which ended up being the difference in a 3-1 loss for the Bulldogs.
Bell is now 1-8 overall and 0-4 in district play.
This week, the Bulldogs have three district games, hosting Branford on Tuesday, then traveling to Bronson on Friday for a day-night doubleheader against the Eagles.
