Trenton FFA does well at Ornamental Horticulture District Event

In mid March, Trenton FFA members competed in ornamental horticulture demonstrations in Branford at the District Competition. There are five categories including production, artistic arrangement, consumer use, marketing and landscaping.
The Trenton Middle FFA did very well at District with several interesting demonstrations.
In the Production category, Lois Bachle of Trenton Middle FFA explained how to replant pineapple tops. Lois placed first in this category with her demonstration.
Harleigh Rucker and Kylie Smith showed how to make simple arrangements using succulents in the Artistic Arrangement category.
In the Consumer Use category Braley Hines demonstrated how to make herb butter. Braley placed second in this category.
In the Landscaping category Charlee Hines demonstrated how to make a triple D arrangement for your patio (defense, dinner, and decoration). Charlee placed second with her demonstration.
Railee McKenzie and Madi Jones placed second with marketing their very own sugar scrub in the Marketing category.
Trenton High FFA members also had a successful day at District competition.
In the Landscaping event Adam Smith and Lauren Roberts placed first with their Southern planter perfection.
Artistic arrangement participants included Savannah Jones and Gracie Langford who placed second with their bouquet of fresh flowers.
Those FFA members who placed first will go on to compete at the State FFA Contest on April 27th at the University of Florida.
