Lady Tigers continue on by beating the Miners

By Todd Bryant
This past week the Lady Tigers hosted the Fort Meade Miners for the Regional Semi Finals.
Trenton had won the right to host the game as the Miners had lost to Frostproof in their district championship.
The Tigers started Darian Ingram on the mound. Ingram threw another 7 inning gem and kept the Miner hitters off balance with her commanding fastball.
For the night she gave up 2 hits, walked only 1, and struck out 10 batters.
The Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second inning highlighted by a two-run bomb off the bat of Bryn Thomas.
For the night, Thomas was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs, Grace Guthrie was 2 for 2 with 2 stolen bases, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs, and Hallie Bryant was 3 for 3 with 4 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.
Taniah Bowers added a triple to left center and Lillian Wilkerson added a double down the left field line.
The Tigers had 12 hits and beat the Miners 9-0.
The Tigers improved to 24-3 and will advance to play the Frostproof Bulldogs at home. Come out and support the Lady Tigers.
Last week Grace Guthrie was mistakingly left off the FACA All State Academic Team list. I apologize for this error.
