Tigers defeat Frostproof Region 4 semi-finals

The Trenton Tigers waited until the 4th inning before they battered and bruised the Frostproof Bulldogs 11-1 in 6 innings Wednesday in Trenton. The Region 4 semi-final victory allows the Tigers to host Chiefland which defeated District 8 winner Ft. Meade, 5-3 Wednesday evening in Ft. Meade.
Trenton’s Trey Sanchez pitched 5 innings allowing a hit and 1 run as the senior right-hander struck out 8. Trent Becker came into this game in the 6th inning as he struck out 3 to seal the victory.
The Tigers’ Landon Kennedy hit 2 of 4 and scored 3 RBIs on a base clearing double in the 6th. Landon Parrish hit a clutch single and stole 2nd to score 3 RBIs in the 5th inning. Zach Hardee hit 2 of 4 with 2 stolen bases and Wyatt Langford hit a 3RBI homerun. Jacob Guthrie had 1 hit and scored 1 run. Chase Malloy had 1 hit, 2 walks, stole 5 bases and scored 2 runs. Trey Sanchez was 1 for 3 and scored 1 run and Daniel Plank was 1 for 3 with a hit, 1 walk and stole 2 bases.
Trenton advanced to host Chiefland in the Region 4 final Tuesday night. The winner of this game will face the winner of the Madison County vs Lafayette Hornets game in the semi-finals of the State 1A Final Four baseball tournament. Go Tigers.
