Steven Hutson to be new Veterans Service Officer

Gilchrist County will have a new Veterans Service Officer on September 17. Steven Hutson of Trenton will be filling the post which has been held by Jim Mash since February 14, 2007. Mash will be retiring fully on December 31.
Hutson is retired Army and he and his wife Ann Marie, have lived in Trenton for about a year and a half.
Hutson said on Monday, “I’m glad to be your new Veterans Service Officer here in Gilchrist County. I’ll strive to continue the service the office has provided for Veterans in the past.”
The next big event that the Veterans Service Office has on the calendar is the Veterans Day Parade to be held on Monday, November 12 at 10 a.m. in Trenton. The parade will begin on US Hwy. 129 and CR 307A. The parade lineup will start at Trenton Elementary School bus area. If groups or individuals wish to participate, please contact the Gilchrist County Veterans Office by email at gvso@gilchrist.fl.us for a parade participant form. The parade forms must be returned by October 31.
