JROTC Honored Patriot’s Day on Sept. 11

On Tuesday, September 11th, the Bell JROTC conducted a ceremony in remembrance of a day that should never be forgotten. The ceremony was held on the Bell High School Campus.
This year is the 17th anniversary of the day four planes were high-jacked and crashed into the twin towers, the pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people were lost due to such a horrible action.
The JROTC strives to educate not only our students, but our community about historical events like this throughout the year. During the ceremony, flags representing the police, fire fighters and a multi-service Veteran’s flag were honored. Three cadets dressed as Patriots to recognize the importance of this day, as well as a cadet who read “A Toast to the Flag.” At 8:46 we paused for a moment of silence, to honor all of the people who were lost on that fateful day.
