Bulldogs sweep Lafayette for first district title since 2014

Bell volleyball ended a four-year district-title drought by sweeping Lafayette Thursday night in Madison.
The Bulldogs got to the title match by sweeping Hamilton County on Tuesday, 25-5, 25-7, 25-21.
Jillian Cassube led the team with 12 kills. Melody Piechocki had six aces. Jenna Holley had 12 digs. Kylee Barry recorded 26 assists.
On Thursday night, the Bulldogs swept Lafayette (25-20, 25-15, 15-16) for the fourth time this season and third time in a best-of-five match.
Jillian Cassube led the team with 18 kills and Jill Morgan added 10. Juliana Whiting had four blocks. Morgan had a team-high 20 digs and Jenna Holley had 14. Kylee Barry had 39 assists.
The wins moved Bell to 23-3 on the season
Bell hosted Union County (9-14, runner-up of District 6-1A) Tuesday night in a regional semifinal match. The Bulldogs defeated Union County, 3-1, on Aug. 23. With a win, the Bulldogs would either travel to Hilliard or host Lafayette Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
