Riverside Christian leads Countryside in shortened game due to lightning

The Riverside Christian Wranglers were in Gainesville playing Countryside Christian on Friday, September 28 when the game was shortened due to lightning in the second period. The Wranglers were on top with a 21-14 score when the game was called due to weather concerns for the players and fans safety.The Wranglers’ Nic Messina and Zeb Bray led the defense. Messina totaled 5 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 assist and Bray recorded 1 tackle, 2 sacks, 2 assists, caused a fumble and recovered a turnover. The Wranglers’ offense with quarterback Cohen Begue completed 3 for 3 passes for 72 yards and 2 scores while he rushed 48 yards for a touchdown. Zack Hall had a 35-yard scoring catch with teammate Dalton Anderson receiving a pass that he turned into a 27 yard score. The Riverside Wranglers will complete this game on October 29 at Countryside Christian School in Gainesville. Riverside travels to Cornerstone Christian Academy in Gainesville this Friday night.
