Adam and Ashley Cook win coveted Statewide Honor from Farm Bureau

Florida Farm Bureau has presented Adam and Ashley Cook of Gilchrist County with its 2018 Achievement in Agriculture Award. The award recognizes Young Farmers and Ranchers for their skill at farm production, development of the enterprise and service to Farm Bureau and the local community.
Adam and Ashley are fifth generation farmers who both grew up in farming. Their family farm, Cook Farm, is a cow/calf operation and grows custom grass, provides custom harvesting and corn sales, timber management and guided turkey hunts.
On winning the award Adam said he and Ashley are honored to receive such a recognition. “This award adds validity towards the dreams and goals we have been working towards as a couple managing the farm.”
Florida Farm Bureau President John Hoblick presented the Achievement in Agriculture Award to Adam and Ashley Cook during Florida Farm Bureau’s 2018 Annual Meeting in St. Augustine at the President’s Award Banquet Oct. 24.
As Florida’s Achievement in Agriculture Award winner the Cooks will receive a $500 check and a 2019 Ford F-150 pick-up truck, courtesy of Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Companies. They will also receive an all-expense paid trip to the 2019 American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in New Orleans, La., Jan. 11-16, to represent the Sunshine State in the national Achievement in Agriculture Award Competition.
