It’s that time of year again! Bell Middle/High School Homecoming is here and it is going to be scarier than ever! Because the Homecoming game will fall on Halloween, this year’s theme is “Haunted Homecoming: A Nightmare on South Main Street”. Throughout the week of October 27 through October 31, we will be celebrating homecoming while portraying a few horror films. Homecoming Week will be as follows: Monday: “Children of the Corn” Day (Dress in Agriculture or Farming Attire) Tuesday: “The Shining” (Twin Day; grab a friend and dress alike) Wednesday: “Wicked” Day (dress as your favorite monster, witch, or character from a horror movie) Thursday: “Night of the Living Dead” Day (Dress up as a zombified Hawthorne Hornet) Friday: “Calling All Spirits” Day (Show your Bulldog Pride in Purple and Gold) Students, please remember our school’s dress code: NO MASKS will be permitted. On Thursday night, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. we will be holding the annual Bulldog Growl in the Iris Roberts Auditorium. Come out and see our students in spooky and creepy skits, rock out with the Purple Powerhouse Marching Band, get your Bulldog spirit on with the Cheerleaders, and help the Fightin’ Bulldogs get ready for the big game.

Bell High School’s Homecoming Court is pictured front row, from left to right, 7th grade attendants Parker Ferguson and Susannah Gray, 8th grade prince contestant Wyatt Baker, 8th grade princess contestant Faith Rankin, 8th grade prince contestant Brayden Sasser, 8th grade princess contestant Samantha Mathews, 8th grade prince contestant Wyatt Thornton, 8th grade princess contestant Kylee Barry, 6th grade attendants Jordan Hernandez and Abbi Lovett. Back row, left to right: 11th grade attendants Jake Hunter and Georgeanna Braswell, 10th grade attendants Jarrett Douglas and Morgan Martin, 9th grade attendants Mackenzie Raney and Cisco Lopez.

The crowning of the Middle School Prince and Princess will take place at Growl. We invite all members of the community and past BHS alumni to join us at Growl. Admission for Bulldog Growl will be $1.00 for ages 5 and up. On Friday afternoon, Oct. 31st at 1:30 p.m., the Bell High School Homecoming Parade will begin. We are looking forward to all of the frightening floats and our Homecoming Attendants and King and Queen Contestants showing off their school spirit. If you are interested in being in the parade, please contact Mr. or Mrs. Surrency at (352) 463-3232. You will need to fill out a form that is located in the Bell High School Front Office. Senior Night will also be starting on Friday night during Pre-game at 7:00 p.m. and the Homecoming Game with the Bell Bulldogs taking on the Hornets of Hawthorne High School will start at 7:30 p.m. The crowning of the BHS Homecoming King and Queen will take place at half-time. Come on out on Halloween night to the “Bone Yard” and enjoy “A Haunted Homecoming”. Let’s go Dawgs!
