County officials cancel workshop on Ten Commandments monument

By Carrie A. Mizell A public workshop to discuss the possible placement of a Ten Commandments monument on the courthouse lawn was cancelled late last week. Scheduled for Monday, June 8 at 6 p.m., the workshop was cancelled because Mr. Joe Anderson, who has offered to pay for the monument and any subsequent legal action, was unable to attend.  Full Story »

Mrs. Mary Cordelia Jones, 87, of Trenton passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday June 2, 2015. She was born October 4, 1927 in Polk City to Andrew and Jessie Taylor.
