Steven Hutson to be new Veterans Service Officer

Gilchrist County will have a new Veterans Service Officer on September 17. Steven Hutson of Trenton will be filling the post which has been held by Jim Mash since February 14, 2007. Main Street dip is smooth once again

The Department of Transportation crew is back in Trenton this week repairing a dip in Main Street. The dip was caused when clay was used to fill over a sewer line after a repair. The Education Foundation of Gilchrist County had a record number of ticket sales for the 6th annual Scholarship Showdown. Gilchrist County law enforcement was given a good meal and accolades for a job well done during their annual awards luncheon on Thursday August 2, at Otter Springs Lodge. Commissioners agree on conceptual plan for new County Jail

The Gilchrist County Commissioners recently held a workshop to discuss several plans for a new county jail. The commissioners studied four different conceptual floor plans that were presented to the commissioners by Clemons, Rutherford & Associates, Inc.
