NE 1st Avenue gets a makeover

Crew of Hicks Seal Coating and Striping LLC, a local asphalt contractor, is shown resurfacing NE 1st Avenue in Trenton on Monday. The paving project was one block in length and ended at 1st Street. Trenton Commission approves 2.25 mills and 5% increase of water and sewer rates

County has new Emergency Alert Program — Sign up now!

Gilchrist County Emergency Management Director Ralph Smith is requesting that residents of Gilchrist County sign up to the new emergency alert program. Smith said on Thursday, August 23, that he was happy that after only 24 hours of the program starting, over 200 residents had already signed up. Steven Hutson to be new Veterans Service Officer

Gilchrist County will have a new Veterans Service Officer on September 17. Steven Hutson of Trenton will be filling the post which has been held by Jim Mash since February 14, 2007. Main Street dip is smooth once again

The Department of Transportation crew is back in Trenton this week repairing a dip in Main Street. The dip was caused when clay was used to fill over a sewer line after a repair.
