Bell basketball team advances

The Bell Bulldogs will advance to the Regional semi-final on Tuesday, February 17 in Jasper. The Bulldogs advanced to the Semi-Regional tournament after they were defeated by Hawthorne 60-46 in the championship of the District 6 1A basketball tournament Saturday night in Hawthorne. Bell High School senior Kelsie Parrott will be attending LaGrange College in the fall majoring in Elementary Education and playing softball for the Lady Panthers. Kidnapping, sexual battery in SE Gilchrist County

  A 40-year-old Trenton man is being held in the Gilchrist County Jail after being arrested for sexual battery, kidnapping and armed burglary. Jerry Dean Smith is accused of entering a home in southeast Gilchrist County, where he confronted a female victim.
