Mizell wins Florida Silvicultural Contractor of the Year

Submitted Callahan native Adam Mizell was recognized as the 2016 Silvicultural Contractor of the Year for the state of Florida on Thursday, Sept. 1 at the Florida Forestry Association’s Annual Meeting. Trenton races past Bell in lightning-shortened game

Local mom loses life in Auto Accident

The community was saddened to learn of a tragic three vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday, August 24. Many lives were impacted as word spread that Kristine Marie McDonald had passed away as a result of a three car accident at the intersection of State Road 26 and County Road 307 at noon time.  Full Story »

It’s Owens and Geiger for Gilchrist School Board Seats 2 and 4

Some 3,608 ballots were cast in the 2016 Primary Election in Gilchrist County, voter turn out was 32.15%. Susan P. Owens won the District 2 School Board seat race. Owens received 1,888 votes while Don Thomas received 1,632 votes. In the School Board District 4 race Gina Geiger won with 1,941 votes while incumbent Julie Thomas received 1,575 votes. Full Story »

Trenton High Field of Faith

Students came from near and far to the first Field of Faith held at Trenton High School in many years. Bulldogs overcome first-half deficit to ground Eagles

By Matthew Harrell The Bell Bulldogs opened their 2016 campaign by defeating the Bronson Eagles 22-12 on Friday night. The victory did not come without effort, as the Bulldogs needed a 22-0 second half to overcome a 12-0 halftime hole and escape Bronson with a win. Benefit Friday for Mauldin and Ragsdale

June and July turned out to be hard months for two young women who grew up in Bell. Both Jennifer Mauldin and Jennifer (Tucker) Ragsdale never dreamed their hometown would be reaching out to help them in September.
