Changes coming to Lancaster Correctional

After many years as a youthful offender facility, Lancaster Correctional Institution will house only adult males beginning in June. Rates will go up at Hart Springs

The Gilchrist County Commissioners approved rate changes for Hart Springs Park on Monday, Feb. 23. Effective immediately, the daily entry fee will change from $4 to $5 per person. Flooding prompts activation of new Santa Fe idle-speed, no-wake zone

Because of recent rains and rising water levels, the Santa Fe River’s new Zone 8 is now above 17 feet, activating the idle-speed, no-wake zone, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials.
