Little ladies enjoy a tea party in Trenton

Little girls dressed in their Sunday best and carrying their baby dolls enjoyed a formal tea party at the Ruffled Rose Tea Room in Trenton on Saturday, Sept. 19. Flanked by their grandmothers and/or mothers, the girls were often reminded to “sit up straight” or “keep your elbows off the table” as they enjoyed caramel tea or pink lemonade. Full Story »

County receives tourism marketing award

The Gilchrist County Tourist Development Council has won a 2015 Flagler Award for the Blueway Trail marketing campaign. Donna Creamer, of the Tourist Development Council, presented the Flagler trophy to the Gilchrist County Commissioners on Monday. Creamer explained that the Flagler Awards were established in 2000 to recognize outstanding tourism marketing in Florida. Full Story »

County applies for $1,592 EMS grant

The Gilchrist County Commissioners have submitted an EMS grant application to the Florida Department of Health for $1,592. According to Chief Mitch Harrell, Gilchrist County EMS responded to 1,742 calls from January 1, 2015 to July 31, 2015. Of those calls, 1,197 were transported to the hospital and 476 were non-transports. This means that EMS responded to the 911 call, ... Full Story »
