Former EMS chief files lawsuit after 2013 arrest

Gilchrist County’s former EMS chief has filed a civil lawsuit in federal court against Sheriff Bobby Schultz and Sergeant Stephen Stalvey. Linda Walker is seeking damages in excess of $75,000 excluding attorney’s fees. Walker claims she was falsely arrested on June 22, 2013 for burglary with intent to commit a trespass. Gilchrist County has the highest graduation rate in the state

Gilchrist County led the state with a 95.4 percent graduation rate for the past school year, well above the statewide rate of 76.1 percent, according to statistics released by the Florida Department of Education on Thursday, Dec. 18.
