Former prison officers guilty of battery on inmate

A jury found two former officers at Lancaster Correctional Institute guilty of Malicious Battery on a Prisoner without great bodily harm at the close of a three-day trial last week. Georgia man dies while cave diving at Ginnie Springs

A Georgia man died Saturday while scuba diving in Devil’s System at Ginnie Springs. An experienced cave diver, John Louis Gregory, 63, of Marietta, Georgia, is believed to have had a medical emergency that led to his death. Lt. Fanning Springs Council approves EMS construction bid

The Fanning Springs City Council held their January regular meeting on Tuesday, January 6. The Council chairman turned the meeting over to Judge Sheree H. Lancaster as she presented the Oath of Office to the newly elected officials. The Council elected Paul Chase to repeat as chairman. Jane Nogaki was elected by a unanimous vote to be the vice chair.
