Gilchrist County has the highest graduation rate in the state

Gilchrist County led the state with a 95.4 percent graduation rate for the past school year, well above the statewide rate of 76.1 percent, according to statistics released by the Florida Department of Education on Thursday, Dec. 18. Students shine in “North Pole Musical”

  The Trenton Elementary School stage was filled with talent last weekend as students in the Trenton Drama Club put on three outstanding performances of “North Pole Musical.” Under the direction of Krista Perryman, the Christmas show was a delight. Johnson is the top speller in Gilchrist County

  Trenton Middle School’s Johnathan Johnson won the Gilchrist County School District Spelling Bee on Tuesday, Dec. 2 and will now go on to compete in Tallahassee. Held at Bell High School on Tuesday morning, the District Spelling Bee featured 12 participants, who represented public and private schools from throughout Gilchrist County.
